Library of the Sapientia College of Theology of Religious Orders has been improving its collection since the Sapientia Religious Community was formed. 2003 our library applied for scheduling for the Public Libraries Register. 

According to the place the Hungarian system of libraries, library is a public religious vocational library. Our circle of collection within the theology is the hallowed life’s literature. Furthermore for the college education many textbooks, handbooks are avaible. (Systematic Theology, Biblical studies, Moral Theology, Church history, Applied Theology, Philosophy and Education) as well as their adjoining science areas (History, Phsychology, Literature, Ethnography)

Sapientia Library has 70 000 volume of books and 17 000 volume of journals and periodicals. Contents of the holdings: 45% Hungarian,  30% German, 25% other language theological literature.

Besides the 136 subscribed journals  the retrospective literature, could be used with the help one of our librarians. Around 467 titles bibliographical data can be searched in the on-line catalogue, furthermore each title can be linked to the journal numbers.  The lists of current journals in Hungarian and in other languages can be found here.

Our documents are in a two-storey reading-room on freely accessible book-shelves except journals for what a librarian’s helping hand is needed.

Library evening
Library Evening’s Program Series has been organised on a monthly-bimonthly bases for years in the Library of Sapientia College of Theology. Our invited performers are not only from the College, colourful discussion topics, presentasions, musical performances are to broaden the knowledge and give unique experiences.
